Campaign URL Builder

A free UTM link builder: paste your landing page, fill in source, medium and campaign, and copy a tagged URL that Google Analytics can attribute.

Values are lowercased and spaces become hyphens, so "Email" and "email" do not split into two rows in your reports. Other parameters in your URL are kept as they are.

Building UTM links here never needs an account. Shortening them does.

What Each UTM Parameter Means

Google recommends filling in source, medium and campaign on every tagged link.

ParameterAnswersExample
utm_sourceWhere did the visitor come from?newsletter, google, linkedin
utm_mediumWhat kind of channel was it?email, cpc, social
utm_campaignWhich campaign or promotion?early-bird, spring-launch
utm_contentWhich link or creative was clicked?header-button, banner-b
utm_termWhich paid keyword, if any?running-shoes

Naming Rules That Keep Reports Clean

Most messy campaign reports come from four habits

Pick one spelling and keep it

Google Analytics treats "Email", "email" and "e-mail" as three different mediums. This builder lowercases values and turns spaces into hyphens for you.

One campaign name across channels

Use the same utm_campaign on the email, the social post and the ad for one promotion, and let source and medium tell them apart.

Never tag internal links

A UTM link from one page of your own site to another overwrites the visitor's real source, so the campaign that brought them in loses the credit.

Use content to compare creatives

Two buttons in one email, or two ad variants: give each its own utm_content and you can see which one was clicked.

Campaign URL Builder FAQ

Is this campaign URL builder free?

Yes. Building UTM links here is free and needs no account. You only need a free URLcut.ai account if you want to turn the tagged URL into a short link.

Which UTM parameters are required?

This builder asks for utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign, the three Google recommends on every tagged link. utm_content and utm_term are optional.

Are UTM parameters case sensitive?

Yes. Google Analytics reports "Email" and "email" as two different values. The builder lowercases every value and turns spaces into hyphens so one campaign stays in one row.

Does the builder change the rest of my URL?

No. It only sets the five utm_ parameters. Any other parameter in your URL is kept as it is, and a utm_ parameter that was already there is replaced rather than added twice.

Can I save my UTM settings or shorten the link?

Yes, in a URLcut.ai account: you can save UTM templates and turn tagged links into short links that count their clicks. See the pricing page for what each plan includes.
