Getting Started
How do I create my first short link?
Sign up for a free account at urlcut.ai/shortener/register, go to your Dashboard, paste your long URL in the URL field, optionally add a title and description for better AI suggestions, click "Generate AI Suggestions" or enter a custom slug, and click "Create Link" to generate your short URL. That's it! Your short link is ready to share.
What's included in the free tier?
The free tier includes 10 links per month (permanent), 10 AI suggestions per month, click analytics (30-day retention), custom slugs, and a 3-second interstitial with URLcut.ai branding. Want more? Check out our Pro plan for unlimited links, unlimited AI suggestions, and instant redirects.
How do I share my short links?
Once you've created a short link, you can copy the link with one click and share it anywhere - social media, email, SMS, or print materials. Track performance in your dashboard. Short links work on all platforms and devices.

How do AI suggestions work?
URLcut.ai uses advanced AI (OpenAI and Gemini) to generate smart, SEO-friendly short URL suggestions. It's context-aware (analyzes your URL, title, and description), generates clean slugs (works with messy tracking links and UTM parameters), provides multiple options (3-10 suggestions per request), and creates memorable, brandable short links.
Should I add a title and description?
Yes! Adding context helps the AI generate better suggestions. Add a title (up to 60 characters) describing your link and a description (up to 160 characters) with more detail. The more context you provide, the more relevant and accurate the AI suggestions will be.
Can I create custom slugs without AI?
Absolutely! You have full control - enter your own custom slug instead of using AI suggestions, or get AI suggestions and modify them. AI assists, but you decide.

What analytics can I track?
URLcut.ai provides comprehensive click analytics including total clicks (overall link performance), devices (desktop, mobile, tablet breakdown), browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.), referrers (where your clicks are coming from), locations (geographic data - country, city), and time series (clicks over time).
How long is analytics data stored?
Free tier: 30 days of analytics data. Pro tier: Permanent analytics retention. Upgrade to Pro to keep your analytics data forever.
Are my analytics real-time?
Yes! All analytics update in real-time. You can see clicks as they happen in your dashboard.
Account & Billing
How do I upgrade to Pro?
Go to Pricing, click "Upgrade to Pro", complete payment via Stripe, and your account is instantly upgraded. Pro includes permanent links, unlimited AI suggestions, instant redirects, and permanent analytics.
Can I cancel my Pro subscription?
Yes, you can cancel anytime from your Account Settings. Your Pro benefits continue until the end of your billing period. After cancellation, you'll revert to the free tier. Your links and data remain safe.
Is URLcut.ai secure?
Yes! We use HTTPS everywhere (all redirects use secure HTTPS), enterprise-grade security with BCrypt hashing and HTTPS (data encrypted in transit and at rest), secure authentication (industry-standard password hashing), regular security audits, and we're GDPR compliant.
How fast are redirects?
